米国の世論調査研究組織ピュー・リサーチセンターはこのほど、世界36カ国で幼少期の信仰からの変更をテーマに調査した結果を発表した。それによれば成人の5分の1以上が生まれ育った宗教グループを離れているが、その中で日本は仏教徒として生まれ育った成人のうち40％が現在、無宗教を自認している。急速に進んだ日本社会の脱宗教化を裏書きするデータだ。
